Overview

The Youth Offending Service (YOS) is key to the success of the Youth Justice System. We are a multi-agency service with the principal aim of preventing and reducing re-offending by young people.

We work with children and young people aged 8 and upwards into adulthood, as well as parents/carers, victims of offending and members of the community.

Our service utilises the skills of staff from a range of professional backgrounds and specialisms including those from partner agencies such as social care, police, health and the Probation Service. This means that we can respond to the needs of young people in a comprehensive way.
