Deleting your personal information

if there is no legal or business need for us to keep your personal data, you have the right to make a request for us to delete it from our website or databases.

When we will delete your information

The right to erasure does not mean we will automatically delete anything we hold on you. We have to keep information on you if we're providing you with a service, or if we have to legally keep it for a certain amount of time. We will delete your information where:

  • you have previously given consent for us to use your data and you now want to withdraw that consent
  • the information needs to be deleted to comply with a legal obligation
  • your information is no longer needed for the original reason it was collected
  • we were using your personal data unlawfully under data protection legislation

When we might refuse to delete your information

There are circumstances where it may not be possible to agree to delete your information because:

  • we need to keep it to comply with a legal obligation
  • it exercises the right of freedom of expression
  • erasing your data would prejudice scientific or historical research
  • we are carrying out a task in the public interest or exercising our official authority
  • it is needed to defend legal claims
