We're here to help and support you and your family.
We promise to work with you and treat you with dignity, respect and kindness, even when things get challenging. We expect you to treat our colleagues with respect too.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to violence, aggression, and abuse towards our colleagues. This means we will always challenge any abuse and take appropriate action against anyone acting in this way towards our team. This includes:
- verbal abuse, intimidation, harassment, or threatening behaviour
- discriminatory behaviour based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or other protected characteristics
- malicious communications, either by telephone, email, through social media or the post
- physical assault, including spitting, use of weapons and throwing objects
If you make the choice to abuse a member of our team we will take action, which could include but is not limited to:
- receiving letters or arranging a meeting about your behaviour
- banning you from council facilities
- changing the services you can access
- reporting your actions to the police and seeking prosecution
We're always keen to hear when things go well or, when they don’t, so we can understand how we can do better. Find out more information about giving feedback, a compliment or making a formal complaint.
