Jobcentre Plus
Jobcentre Plus is a service for people who need to claim out of work benefits. When you access this service, you'll have an initial discussion with a Work Coach to determine what employment support you may need.
Jobcentre Plus can also provide support with:
- job searching
- CV preparation
- sector-based training courses linked to recruiting employers
Youth Employment Hub
The Jobcentre Plus also offer a Youth Employment Hub for those aged 16 to 24. For more information, speak to your Jobcentre Plus Work Coach.
Work Clubs
Work Clubs is a local advice and support service for jobseekers.
Work Clubs are available for anyone to attend and can be found in locations across Stockport.
Stockport Live Well directory
You can find training, employment and volunteering opportunities in the Stockport Live Well directory.
Family Hubs
You can find support with training and employment at your local Family Hub.
Libraries
You can also find support, including free wifi and computer access, at your local library.
Stockroom drop-in
Stockroom hosts free drop-in information sessions on the second Thursday of every month from 4.30pm to 6pm. They can help to connect you with the right service for:
- job searching and CV building
- health-related support to help you stay in or return to work
- career progression and training opportunities
- support with skills, training and qualifications
- wellbeing and volunteering
