2. Woodland Management Grant

The Forestry Commission's Woodland Management Grants have allowed us to invest in the development of trees in the Borough's woodlands.

We have made a number of improvements to Stockport's woodland trees. This is to ensure that an increased number of plant species, predominantly native to the area, are able to thrive.

Bird and bat boxes have also been installed in order to provide them with additional roosting and nesting opportunities.

Access to Stockport's woodlands has also been improved. There are new paths and steps allowing more people to explore and enjoy the Borough's greenspaces.

A new programme of work is being drawn up for 2016/17. This is so that additional funding can be applied to extend this process to even more woodlands throughout Stockport.
