2. Area designation

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council has, on 17 October 2013, refused the application from Woodford Community Council for the designation of the Woodford Neighbourhood Area as proposed.

We have, however, formally designated a smaller area as the Woodford Neighbourhood Area (PDF 141Kb) .

Under regulation 7(1) the council are required to publish the following in relation to the designation:

(a) Name of the neighbourhood area: Woodford Neighbourhood Area

(b) A map which identifies the area (PDF 339Kb)

(c) The name of the relevant body who applied for the designation: Woodford Community Council

In accordance with regulation 7(2) we're required to set out a statement detailing the reasons for refusing to designate a Neighbourhood Area. Given that the neighbourhood area designated is not the same as applied for, it is considered appropriate to set out the reasons why 2 specific areas have been excluded from the area as proposed.

In accordance with regulation 7(2) a decision document (PDF 629Kb) setting out the decision and a statement of the council’s reasons for making the decision is available.

The decision document can also be viewed on request at Fred Perry House, Edward Street, Stockport SK1 3XE (8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday).
