Accessing wifi
You can access wifi on your own device for free in all of our libraries.
To access the wifi, connect to 'Hotspot'.
You'll then be prompted to sign in. You can sign in to the wifi with Facebook, LinkedIn, text message or WhatsApp.
You'll need to log in to each of your devices. This can be done with the same login method for each device. For example, you can recieve a text message on your mobile to login to wifi on your laptop.
You only need to login the first time you access the wifi.

Using computers in our libraries
You can log in to the computers in our libraries using your library card number and pin. If you do not have your library card, you'll need to ask library staff for a guest login.
If you're not a library member and would like to join, you can complete our online joining form.
Our computers have Microsoft Office and image manipulation software installed, allowing word processing, spreadsheets and other options. Each computer has USB ports and CD-writing facilities.
All public computers have built-in accessibility software so that you can adapt the computers to suit your needs.
Each library has a scanner that you can use to save your documents as computer files. You'll need to ask library staff to use the scanner during staffed times.
All computers automatically shut down 15 minutes before the library closes.
Booking a computer
If you're a library member, you can book a computer for a specific time slot. You'll need to speak to staff at the library branch you want to book with. You can visit during staffed times or email libraries@stockport.gov.uk.
You must arrive on time for your booking. If you arrive late, your booking will be cancelled.
How we use your data
The council primarily use your data for responding to your request. All information is processed in accordance with our organisational privacy notice. We never sell your data to third parties or use it to market to you without your consent.
