Improvements to Etherow Country Park

We're carrying out vegetation and tree work in Etherow Country Park.

This will improve the safety of structures in the park as well as clearing access to them, and improve water quality, biodiversity and public enjoyment of the park.

This work will be taking place over the next 12 weeks. We'll keep this area updated with any more developments.

There will be temporary footpath closures/diversions to make sure you're safe when you use the park. Make sure you follow safety signs and safety marshals while the work is being carried out.

Peak Way Walk

A circular route of 155 miles starting and finishing in Woodbank Memorial Park.

The route leaves Stockport on the Peak Forest Canal heading to New Mills and the Peak District National Park and returns into Stockport via Lyme Park and the Macclesfield Canal. It's a substantial route; the most southerly point is at Ashbourne, Staffordshire.

You'll walk through parts of the Dark and White Peaks including Kinder, Mam Tor and Dove Dale.
