Improvements to Etherow Country Park

We're carrying out vegetation and tree work in Etherow Country Park.

This will improve the safety of structures in the park as well as clearing access to them, and improve water quality, biodiversity and public enjoyment of the park.

This work will be taking place over the next 12 weeks. We'll keep this area updated with any more developments.

There will be temporary footpath closures/diversions to make sure you're safe when you use the park. Make sure you follow safety signs and safety marshals while the work is being carried out.

Cheshire Ring Canal Walk

The Cheshire Ring is a 97 mile route following the towpaths of 6 historic canals through Lancashire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. It offers a quiet countryside, city streets and views of the Cheshire Plain and the Peak District.

The route enters Stockport at High Lane. It then goes along the Macclesfield Canal, heads to the junction at Marple and then follows the Peak Forest Canal. It leaves Stockport via Woodley.
