Overview
The Local Government Transparency Code was issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government in 3 October 2014. It requires that local councils publish certain information as specified in the Code.
The Government believe that making information publicly available, there will be more power into citizens' hands to increase democratic accountability. It will be easy for local people to contribute to the local decision making process and help shape public services.
In order to make council information easier to access, re-use and analyse. This is published in an 'Open Data' format wherever possible. We aim to meet or exceed the standard set out in the Transparency Code by publishing data in a re-usable format without restriction.
