Other training resources
A range of briefing products are available to raise awareness about counter-terrorism and Prevent. These are accredited by the Home Office and Association of Chief Police Officers.
Educate against hate is the recommended training resource for schools and education settings.
The Home Office e-learning programme has been developed following extensive consultation and offers an introduction to the Prevent duty. It explains how it aims to safeguard vulnerable people from being radicalised, to supporting terrorism or becoming terrorists themselves. This package is currently designed for those across the education and local authority sectors. Further packages are still being developed. The case studies focus on either vulnerable individuals attended by social workers in home environments or at risk students who are supported by a teacher raising a concern. Links to the prevent duty guidance and further information are available at the end of this training.
The GOV.UK website has produced a catalogue of training resources to help individuals covered by the requirements of the Prevent Duty, contained in Section 26 of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. The courses within this catalogue aim to support frontline staff in increasing their understanding and awareness of radicalisation and how it can be prevented.
