Taxi driver knowledge tests
You'll need to take the knowledge test relevant to the taxi driver's licence you're applying for. There are different questions for Hackney, private hire, executive hire and assisted hire. If you apply for more than one type of licence, you'll need to take the test for each licence.
If your badge has expired for longer than 12 months, you may need to re-take the test to show you have the knowledge to drive a licensed vehicle.
Knowledge test questions are reviewed regularly reflecting changes to legislation, conditions and policies.
Taxi licensing collections: festive period 2024
We'll be running an additional collection service on Monday 23 December 2024 from 9am to 4pm.
The next collection service after this will be Wednesday 8 January 2025.
Collections will be available at no other times. Please make sure you submit all applications in advance.
