Health Visiting

All Health Visitors are qualified nurses or midwives with extra training and experience of child and family health, public health and health promotion.

Their role is to work with you and your family, offering support and advice in the first years of your parenting journey.

Health Visitors work as part of integrated Start Well Locality teams, which include:

  • Staff Nurses
  • Early Years Workers
  • Health Visiting Locality Assistants
  • Support staff

They may see you and your family at home, in health centres or clinics, in Start Well Hubs or at your GP surgery. Your Health Visitor will be in touch with you before you have your baby.

You can visit the Stockport NHS website to find more information about the Health Visiting Service.

The Greater Manchester Early Years App

The Greater Manchester Early Years App is a digital platform that allows your Health Visitor to share development assessment forms, known as ages and stages questionnaires (ASQ forms), with you electronically, instead of using paper forms. Visit our webpage for more information about the app.
