Stockport is a borough full of unique neighbourhoods, where people value a sense of community, feel safe and have pride in their local area. However, we know that there are stark inequalities between our neighbourhoods. That’s why we’re taking a local approach and thinking about how our 5 big things come together in a local area.
We call it Stockport Live Well and it means working differently in each community, based on what people need, and bringing early help and support together in local neighbourhoods.
Our key areas of focus will be:
to support and enable communities to use their knowledge, skills and assets to connect and participate in their neighbourhoods
to join up public services, working together alongside local people as a single team
to work with our partners to create vibrant, clean and safe places where people can socialise, make friends, and access a range of support, information, advice, culture and leisure facilities
to become a digitally enabled borough where technology helps people live independently
