Taxi awareness
- only use licensed taxis or pre-booked licensed private hire vehicles - know the difference between a hackney carriage and private hire vehicle
- if you're travelling alone, pre-book your licensed private hire vehicle through an operator
- check the vehicle you're getting in to is the vehicle you've booked. Ask what name is on the booking
- always check the driver's badge to make sure they're licensed
- if you have any doubts about a taxi do not get in and order another
- know where the taxi ranks are
- take a taxi with friends
- always sit in the back seats
