Know the differences between a hackney carriage and private hire vehicle in Stockport.
A hackney carriage
- can be flagged down on the street, at an authorised taxi rank or pre-booked through a licensed private hire operator
- must be wheelchair accessible
- can be licensed to carry up to a maximum of 8 passengers
