Report mis/dis/malinformation
If you come across misleading or harmful content online, there are steps you can take to report it and reduce its spread.
Report content on social media
WhatsApp flags messages that have been forwarded multiple times. This can indicate they may not be reliable.
To report it:
- open the chat
- tap the contact name or number
- select Report or Report and block
Reported content is shared with WhatsApp. The sender is not notified.
Facebook and Instagram (Meta)
To report content on Facebook and Instagram:
- select the 3 dots (…) on the post
- tap Report
- choose False information
- submit your report
TikTok
To report content on Tiktok:
- select the video or account
- tap the share arrow
- choose Report
- select Misinformation as the reason
