Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus is run by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Trained and experienced staff can:

  • help you find work that's suitable for you
  • advise you on benefits
  • provide help and support if you cannot work
  • provide information on other work initiatives:

Working Well

The Working Well programme provides support for unemployed people with health conditions or disabilities. It is also designed to help those individuals who have been out of work for a long time as well as those who might need some specialist support.

Disability Employment Advisers (DEAs)

If you have a health condition or disability that affects your ability to work, you can speak to a Disability Employment Adviser at Jobcentre Plus. They can provide help and support on work-related issues. For example:

  • help with work preparation
  • recruitment
  • interview coaching
  • confidence building

They also work with employers to promote employment and support of people with disabilities.

Pure Innovations

Pure Innovations is a Stockport based charity who believe that with the right support you can find the right career and stay in employment. They offer support to adults over the age of 18 with:

  • learning disabilities
  • mental health issues
  • autism or Aspergers

They can also help if you're:

  • a young person in care
  • a young person with additional needs or learning difficulties
  • worried about losing your job
