About our supplementary documents and guidance

Supplementary Planning Documents (SPD) provide detailed guidance on specific sites and topic areas to supplement the formal policies of the statutory development plan. They're a replacement for Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) which, under the new planning system came into force from September 2004 and are no longer being produced.

Several SPG's are still relevant and up to date. These will be saved until such a time they're no longer needed and it's considered necessary to replace them with new SPD's.
