Street trading (including food hawkers and mobile snack bars)

The council has adopted Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.

This means that street traders require an annual consent to trade.

Streets within the borough are designated either as prohibited for street trading or as a consent street (trading permitted) for which an application may be made.

Traders must apply for a consent to trade and this is determined by the appropriate council committee.

Before you apply you may find it useful to view our list of street trading consents (PDF 191Kb).
