How to raise concerns about someone in a position of trust

It's important to speak out when you have safeguarding concerns about someone who holds a position of trust amongst people with care or support needs, whether they're being paid or volunteering.

For example, you might be worried that someone who works or volunteers with care recipients has:

  • become a risk to people they interact with
  • behaved in a way that might have harmed someone they look after
  • committed a criminal offence against someone
