About our Safeguarding Adult Reviews

As a partnership, we conduct Safeguarding Adult Reviews in line with statutory guidance under The Care Act 2014.

We usually conduct them following incidents where an adult with care and support needs is seriously harmed or has died as a result of abuse or neglect. We also conduct them when there are concerns about how services worked together to protect the adult.

The purpose of a Safeguarding Adult Review is not to apportion blame, but to understand if lessons can be learned from the adult’s circumstances. This can then improve practice or improve the ways in which services work together to safeguard vulnerable adults.
