Overview
On 11th November events took place across Stockport to mark 100 years since the end of World War 1.
Thousands of people attended services of remembrance across the borough, where two minutes silence were observed and wreaths were laid in memory of all those who have lost their lives in conflicts over the years.
A series of special events took place culminating in a stunning lantern parade and beacon lighting place also took place in Stockport town centre.
As part of Stockport Remembers four new exhibitions and installations are being held in Stockport War memorial Art Gallery. Each of the exhibitions, which will run over the coming weeks and months and is a poignant tribute to World War One and how we remember everyone who did not make it home.
