Overview

Stockport Music Service offers 'a very good, high quality music education that provides good value for money'. The Music Service believes that musical learning should motivate, enthuse and stimulate progress.

During the day we have a team of staff who are employed across Stockport Local Authority Schools. They deliver whole class (often known as Wider Opportunities/First Access) and small group tuition.

During after school hours, our work takes place at the Music Service centre. This is where we deliver individual tuition and rehearse over 15 ensembles per week.

The service is a trusted and respected organisation. We work with local schools and parents, and believe that excellent music education should be an opportunity for all.

There are also opportunities to have lessons at the Music Centre on most evenings and a Saturday morning. However, this depends on the instrument being learnt.

We also recommend that anybody having lessons should play or sing in an ensemble. This helps to promote instrumental skills. Information about all the groups can be found on Stockport Local. This is a fantastic way to make friends and have fun while improving your playing or singing.
