The Stockport image archive is home to around 39,000 pictures that show Stockport through the ages.
Over the years, the council's Local Heritage Library has built up a collection of around 60,000 images of Stockport. The images date from the late 1800s to the present day, and cover the borough of Stockport and surrounding areas.
Pictures range from public houses to churches, and festivals to transport. They give a fascinating insight into life in Stockport over the years.
We plan to keep adding to this valuable resource from our own collection and incorporate images donated by the public.
