The following section contains information to ensure that the council complies with subsidy control transparency requirements.
Phase 4
Getting Building Fund
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government has allocated grants from the Getting Building Fund. The Ministry is now the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. The grants were applied for through the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership. They are for:
- supporting the delivery of projects across Greater Manchester
- supporting investment to deliver jobs, skills and infrastructure
- supporting the delivery of shovel-ready infrastructure projects
- boosting economic growth
- fuelling local recovery and jobs

Our grant has been allocated to enable the programme of future phases of Stockport Exchange. This will include:
- incorporating green energy
- job creation
- improved public realm

We received £4.2 million from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, as the accountable body for the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership. The grant has been allocated to Muse Developments Limited. It goes towards the project known as Stockport Exchange Phase 4 and Clean Energy Infrastructure Stockport. This was awarded in exercise of our powers under section 1 of the Localism Act 2022.
