Stockport Economic Alliance brings together senior representatives of Stockport’s influential employers and partner organisations, who meet regularly to understand and act upon issues within the local economy. The alliance meet to review and drive economic progress, consider issues and foster innovation.
Roles and responsibilities
Stockport Economic Alliance has a key role to play in helping create the right conditions for economic and employment growth, including:
- monitoring progress in delivery of the One Stockport Economic Plan to 2030
- representing the needs and concerns of the local business community in matters of strategic importance
- developing a response to policy changes in the local, regional and national economy which impact Stockport’s residents and businesses
- identifying and implementing actions that ensure that the Stockport Economic Plan continues to have relevance and has a positive impact on the local economy
- setting the agenda for the long term economic growth of the borough
