Stockport Blue Plaques

The Stockport Blue Plaque Scheme commenced in 2000 as part of the Millennium celebrations.

In 2007 Stockport Heritage Trust, in conjunction with Stockport Council, secured National Lottery funding to put in place additional plaques and create a Blue Plaque Trail.

More recently a further 2 plaques have been erected to commemorate the arrival of Channel Island Evacuees in Stockport during WWII and the birthplace of Gabrielle Ray.

In Stockport there are now 36 blue plaques commemorating people, events and places associated with the history of Stockport.
