Winter Fuel Payment text scam
If you get a text about the Winter Fuel Payment or Winter Fuel Allowance, it is a scam.
This payment is made automatically – you do not need to apply. The government will never ask for your bank details by text.
If you get a suspicious text, do not respond or click on any links or downloads. Forward it to 7726 (free of charge) and delete it immediately.
