Before you make a report
You must read the information on our abandoned vehicles on public land webpage before you complete our online form.
We can only investigate an abandoned vehicle if it meets at least one of the following criteria:
- it's been at the location for a minimum of 12 weeks
- it's in poor condition
- it's become the target of vandalism or anti-social behaviour
You can use our online form to report an abandoned vehicle to us.You'll need to tell us:
- how long the vehicle has been there
- about the condition if the vehicle
- the location of the vehicle
- the make, model, colour and registration number of the vehicle
- if the vehicle has valid road tax. You can visit GOV.UK to check if a vehicle is taxed
If a registered keeper fails to comply with a removal notice, we can impound and dispose of the vehicle. This also applies to vehicles abandoned on private land, subject to enquiries being made with the landowner.
