Grey squirrels are seen the whole year round. They are light brown to grey in colour. Their body is about 25 cm in length and their tail is 20 cm.
The grey squirrel is not a natural habitant of the British Isles and was introduced into Britain in the Victorian times. It has now become widespread throughout the UK and it has placed red squirrel numbers under serious threat. Under British law grey squirrels are deemed to be a pest species that can be treated by an authorised person.
