Special educational needs and disability support

Children with special educational needs (SEN) may need extra support at school and/or at home to help them learn.
All Children and young people are entitled to an Education that enables them to make progress so they can achieve their best, become confident individuals living fulfilling lives and make a successful transition into adulthood, whether into employment, further or high education or training.
This also applies to Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) and Stockport have a dedicated team of professionals working with these children & families to deliver educational support, to meet the child's assessed needs.
Stockport has a website called the Local Offer, hosting information, advice and support for children and young people with Special Educational Needs age 0-25 and their families.
