Sensory loss awareness

To raise awareness of sensory loss, different officers roles and our legal responsibilities.
The course is designed for internal and external staff. It will cover such things as: our legal responsibilities, how to identify a need, barriers to communication and practical tips.
There will also be an opportunity to find out more about:
- some of the communication aids
- services available to support people who have a sensory impairment
Attendees will also receive a comprehensive information pack developed by Walthew House, as a useful reference for the future.
The sessions are open to all health and social care workers. This includes people working in admin and staff from residential care and domiciliary care agencies.
Free of charge - although there may be a £50 charge for non-attendees.
The course lasts for 3.5 hours and is held in the Learning and development centre, 1st floor, Stopford House.
Full details of the venue will be sent to delegates who reserve a place. Please note that car parking in the surrounding area is limited and on a pay-and-display basis.
