Overview

Seasons of Stories is an exciting project happening in Alexandra Park and Edgeley Library. The project includes a range of events and outreach, but the main focus is a story trail through the park.

The project aims to help people feel connected to nature. This could be simply spending time outdoors walking through the park, or using the prompts on the story trail to reflect on nature or engage in moments of mindfulness.

Research shows that when people feel more connected to nature, they have better mental health. Connection to nature also makes you much more likely to take positive action for the environment and engage in green activities.

Seasons of Stories is a joint project run by Stockport Libraries and the Climate Action Now team, supported with funding from Nature England and Libraries Connected. Our thanks to Men in Sheds Marple, our artist Emmi Stuart-Crush, and the council’s Neighbourhoods Team who have all supported the project.

We look forward to seeing you on the trail and at our events!
