Roadworks, closures and diversions
Last updated 20 April 2022
6. Reddish Vale Road, Reddish
Following on from drainage camera surveys last year, funding is now available to repair the existing system of gullies and pipes. In addition to routine maintenance, the works include the installation of additional drainage features around the high school playing field and the allotments. These are expected to help with water management in the area, particularly during periods of prolonged and/or heavy rain.
For the works to be undertaken efficiently and safely, a temporary Traffic Order has been put in place. This will stop vehicles accessing Reddish Vale Road between Dalkeith Road and Mill Lane junction. Diversion signs will direct drivers to an alternative route; Longford Road, Windmill Lane and Mill Lane.
There may be times during the day when access to properties on Reddish Vale Road will be limited. For works to take place on the lower section of Reddish Vale Road, between the houses and the Mill Lane junction, residents will need to use Reddish Vale Road, rather than the diversion route. Our officers and contractors will keep residents updated as works progress.
The drainage works are due to start from 1 March 2021, Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The works will take approximately 6 weeks.
Signs will be provided in the area to advise of programmed start dates.
