Peel Moat Road, Heaton Moor Road and Broomfield Road Junction
Heaton Moor Road is recognised as a hinderance to active travel routes. This scheme will provide safer crossings for pedestrians, while supporting cyclists on a north-south route along quieter, residential roads including Peel Moat and Broomfield. It will include the introduction of traffic signals.
We need to carry out site investigations consisting of a variety of surveys and
excavations to enable our detailed design to be completed with more information and accuracy, and so the construction programme can be prepared with more confidence. These investigations will help us to better understand the location and condition of utility apparatus, make-up of the existing ground and other ground characteristics.
Site investigations: Week starting 30 September 2024
For 4 days on the week starting 30 September, between 7:30am and 4pm, we'll be digging a number of trial holes around the junction, undertaking a camera survey of the existing drainage system, and clearing any blockages that we find.
Temporary traffic management will be required to enable the investigation works to be carried out safely and efficiently. This will include temporary 4-way traffic lights and footway closures, with pedestrians diverted locally. The impact of the temporary traffic lights will be closely monitored.
Thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation with our teams on site, and we apologise for any inconvenience which may be caused. Access will be maintained to all properties at all times.
