5. Moss Lane and surrounding areas, Bramhall
We've been granted funding from the Poynton Relief Road (PRR) scheme which has been developed by Cheshire East Council, in partnership with Stockport Council. As a result it's proposed to implement traffic management mitigation measures along Moss Lane and Acre Lane to enhance road safety and encourage walking and cycling.
Following the approval for the above highway scheme, construction at the junctions of Hawthorn Grove/Moss Lane, Ford’s Lane/Moss Lane and Ashley Drive/Moss Lane will start on 18 January 2021 for an estimated 15 weeks.
The works include junction build outs to improve visibility and reduce crossing distances. The scheme will also include carriageway resurfacing at the Moss Lane/Acre Lane/Hawthorn Grove junction.
The use of traffic management in the form two-way and three-way traffic lights will be required during these works. The main temporary traffic management measure required will be to close a section of Acre Lane/Moss Lane from the junction of Langdale Road to Furness Road to allow the resurfacing of the carriageway. This is scheduled to take place from the 15 February 2021 for 5 days between 9am and 4pm and a signed diversion route will be implemented around this closure. The majority of the works will be carried out between 9am and 4pm to allow traffic flows in the peak period to be unhindered.
