Overview
The development of the rights of way network in Stockport is based on the Rights of Way Improvement Plan and its related action plan.
Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2018
The Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2018 (PDF 821.12Kb) was produced following feedback from consultation with local residents and organisations. It was adopted by the Council Executive in March 2018.

Updated action plan
The action plan forms part of the Rights of Way Improvement Plan. It was reviewed in 2023.
The revised action plan reflects the updated outcomes and keys dates that were agreed following the mid-point review. The action plan aims to continue to support the Rights of Way Improvement Plan's 7 conclusions.
The updated outcomes and actions will continue to be progressed ahead of a formal review of the plan, scheduled for 2028.
