We're required to carry out a review of our polling districts and polling places on a regular basis. The most recent review for Stockport took take place over the autumn and winter of 2024.

On Thursday 16 January 2024, the meeting of the Full Council voted to determine the polling districts and polling places for future elections in Stockport. The new polling districts were reflected in the Register of Electors, published on 1 February 2025, and will be used for any future elections.
The next scheduled election of councillors for the borough of Stockport is to be held on Thursday 7 May 2026.

Your views and comments
A public consultation period was held as part of this review, which ran from Monday 21 October to Thursday 28 November.
Residents were able to make comments and suggestions on:
- polling places and polling districts
- the suitability and location of any polling place in the borough
- the size and boundary of any polling district in the borough
All comments submitted as part of the consultation, as well as any comments made at meetings of our Area Committees and Scrutiny Committee, were taken into consideration in determining the final polling arrangement.
