Permanently living in a residential home or hospital

If everyone over the age of 18 is permanently living in a residential home or hospital, you won't pay Council Tax.

You will pay Council Tax if one household member (over 18) isn't permanently living in a residential home or hospital. However, you may be able to get a 25% Council Tax reduction.

You may be able to get a reduction if:

  • the residential home or hospital confirms you're permanently resident there
