To vote in an election or referendum, you must be on the electoral register. Everyone who is eligible to vote is responsible for registering themselves.

What you need to register

You'll need to provide certain information in order to register to vote. This includes your:

  • full name
  • address
  • date of birth
  • National Insurance number

Electoral register

The Electoral Register is published on an annual basis, with updates published periodically throughout the year. The 2025 Electoral Register was published on 1 February 2025. The 2026 Electoral Register is expected to be published on 1 December 2025.

There are no monthly updates to the register in October and November due to the Annual Canvass.
