Regeneration and housing development

What's in this guide?

1. Overview

Our goal is to create a high-quality town centre for the lasting benefit of its residents, visitors and investors and to deliver priority development elsewhere in the borough of Stockport.

We work with other council services, public and private sector stakeholders and partners and the local community to realise this objective.

Stockport Council has long recognised that there are inequalities in the borough and strategic reports often reflect that we are the third most polarised borough in the country.

The £300 million Greater Manchester Housing Fund can help free up land, regenerate housing and build new homes. More information can be found on the GMCA website.
