The shared bins in your apartment or flat will have new stickers on them to indicate changes to your recycling service. A postcard will be delivered to each flat to let you know about the changes, you can also download the postcard (PDF 769Kb) yourself.
Items you can recycle at your flats include:
- newspapers and magazines
- all types of cardboard
- drinks cartons
- phone books
- plastic bottles
- glass bottles and jars
- food tins and drinks cans
- empty aerosols
- aluminium foil
- plastic pots (such as yoghurt, soup and hair gel containers)
- plastic tubs (such as margarine, chocolate and laundry powder containers)
- plastic trays (such as containers for cooked or raw meat, and fruit and veg punnets)
If you live in a flat and are not yet able to recycle the additional materials such as plastic bottles and cardboard, you can get in touch by emailing stockportdirect@stockport.gov.uk. A recycling officer will then visit your flats to put in place the new service.
