1. Legal requirements
Site inspections guarantee that the work taking place is in compliance with building regulations. If you need to contact us about building regulation issues please phone 0161 474 3875.
It is a legal requirement to notify the council at the following stages:
You cannot start building work until:
- you have given the local authority notice of your intention to carry out work; and
- at least two days have passed since the end of the day on which the notice was given to inspect that the work meets building regulation standards. If you don’t you might have to correct the work you have done.
You will need to notify the local authority when building work is complete no more than 5 days after completion.
Where a building has been erected to which the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (a) applies or will apply after the completion of the work and that building is to be occupied before completion, you will need to give the local authority at least 5 days notice before the building or any part of it is occupied.
