Cheadle and Gatley
Footpath 105
We're making an order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
We'll temporarily close Footpath 105, Cheadle and Gatley, from Heathbank Road to the eastern side of the railway bridge. Traffic signs to that effect will be in place on or near the footpath.
This order is necessary to allow works to replace the railway bridge to take place.
Alternative routes will be provided via:
- north east for 50 metres along Heathbank Road 130 metres to Footpath 96, Cheadle and Gatley
- south west along the footpath for 350 metres, south east across the railway, and then north west for 320 metres to the other end of the closed section
This order is to come into operation on 19 July 2024 and will have effect for 6 months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, this order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
The reference number for this order is ZA/3655020.

Footpath 96
We propose making an order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.
The order will temporarily close Footpath 96 Cheadle and Gatley, Heald Green, from its junction with Wilmslow Road, to a point approximately 350 metres east, where the diverted route will rejoin the original line, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said footpath.
This order is necessary for public safety during housing development works.
We expect the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months.
Diversion route:
- from its junction with Wilmslow Road, in a southeasterly direction then easterly, then northerly to a point approximately 350 metres east, where the diverted route will rejoin the original line
This route will follow the boundary of the works enclosure and will be signed.
This order is to come into operation on the 28 June 2024 and will have effect for 6 months, unless work finishes sooner.
The reference number for this order is ZLA/3310460.
