Working with others
We could not do the work we do without working closely and collaboratively with our partners. In Stockport, we have a clear shared vision and strong relationships with our partners, communities and residents. This approach is brought to life in One Stockport, One Future.

Radically digital
In Stockport, we have an award-winning approach to digital and data. Our Digital Strategy 2025 to 2030 ensures that our we make the most of the possibilities that digital brings.
Digital can help us to change the way we work and the way we engage with people. It opens up new opportunities for jobs and our local economy. It's essential in providing better customer service more efficiently.
Our key areas of focus will be:
to continue our journey to be a digitally-enabled council by using data to better understand residents’ needs and improve services; increasing transparency and sharing data across partners; improving digital confidence in the workforce and strengthening IT security
to support digitally enabled communities – reducing digital exclusion and helping people get online; supporting independence through digital tools and services; and increasing digital skills across the community
to plan for the future and ensure Stockport is a digital place – attracting and supporting digital and tech businesses to grow the local economy; supporting the expansion of modern digital infrastructure across the borough and using automation and smart technology to improve daily life and support climate goals
Delivering change and spending wisely
We take pride in our ability to make a difference for the people of Stockport – driving change and transforming services, while spending our money wisely. More so than ever, achieving this and delivering value for money of every penny spent is essential.
Our multi-year funding settlement from government presents a significantly more challenging outlook for Stockport over the next 3 years. We will receive less funding than many other councils who face the same service demand and budget challenges as us.
We must continue to manage our challenging financial position collectively through efficient and effective services and prioritising public resources wisely.
Our key areas of focus will be:
