Toddle Time

Teaching babies and pre-school children that learning is fun!

Toddle Time runs every term-time on Fridays from 9:30am to 11am at York Street Community Centre, Edgeley.

The group was set up in 2012 by a group of experienced children’s leader volunteers, who wanted to set up a group that was accessible to everyone. Most attendees come from Edgeley and Cale Green, though people from all areas are welcome to join. The group costs just £1.50 per session, regardless of the number of children in a family.

Toddle Time

I absolutely love Toddle Time! There is a real buzz on a Friday morning and I love hearing the children chattering and the grown-ups nattering!

Toddle Time brings together local families and provides a safe space for play, fun and friendship. There are different toys available, a dedicated baby area, imaginative play, stories crafts and singing time and healthy snacks and drinks.

The grown ups are looked after too, with hot drinks and toast provided, all within the price.

The group is run entirely by volunteers. A core team of 10 regular volunteers help to make the group happen, but up to 20 casual volunteers have been part of Toddle Time over the years.

Lead volunteer Karen Bailey said: “I absolutely love Toddle Time! There is a real buzz on a Friday morning and I love hearing the children chattering and the grown-ups nattering! I am so proud of all our volunteers, particularly how they look after everyone who comes along, especially those who are new.

“We would love to see new volunteers coming along, so do get in touch if you think you could get involved!”
