"Hi, I’m Sue and I work as a Transportation Officer here at the council. I issue permits for various licences for things that occupy public spaces. I joined as a Business Admin apprentice 5 years ago after 20 years working in a school setting.

"I found the Perimenopause and Menopause Support Group through a colleague and joined as soon as I started. The group has been a safe space throughout my time with the council to talk to women who are experiencing similar things to me. We have a Teams group where we can chat about symptoms and share advice and support. It’s made me feel like I am not on my own on my journey."

Information about the Perimenopause and Menopause Support Group

Our Perimenopause and Menopause Support Group have over 90 members of all ages who are working at the council. The group tries to meet on a regular basis, on Microsoft Teams and in-person to catch up.

We facilitate Let’s Talk Menopause sessions to educate our workforce on the subject. We also hold a regular Menopause Café, which is open for anyone to attend, where we meet to have coffee and cake and a chat.
