Stockport Live Well is Stockport’s way of bringing together early help and support, making it easier for our local communities to help themselves, their families, and those they care for in places close to them.

Stockport Live Well is about:

  • teamwork bringing together health and care services provided by the council, health partners, and our voluntary, community, and faith sector
  • understanding the needs of individual and diverse communities and providing local information, advice and support at places like libraries, leisure centres, schools and local hubs
  • our neighbourhood and prevention approach: putting the people who live and work in our communities at the heart of what we do

Stockport Live Well is actively seeking to reduce inequalities so that everyone can thrive and lead happier, healthier lives, through:

  • fair access to the building blocks for health such as early years support, jobs and homes
  • more equitable services
  • strengthening communities

Our residents value feeling part of a community, feeling safe and having pride in their local area. We are working across the One Stockport Partnership, to provide brilliant community spaces, making it easier for people to access good local information, advice and support when they need it and to join up our health and care services. We all want to make Stockport an even greater place to live happy and healthy lives, a place where anything is possible, a place that everyone, right across the borough can be proud of.

You may have already seen or visited our Stockport Live Well Family Hubs. They are already helping children, young people, and families get the information, help and support they need at the right time.

For adults, we now offer Stockport Live Well appointments at local libraries and other familiar places on your doorstep. This ensures quicker and easier access to support, allowing you to remain active and independent for as long as possible.

Stockport Live Well cost of living support is available at community spaces such as libraries, Family Hubs and Stockport Homes. It can help you apply for benefits, help with food, energy bills and other financial support.

We also have help and support available on our website 24/7. Stockport Live Well directory brings together all our online information and advice and our online directories so you can search for support groups, community organisations, events and much more.

Our cross-sector DigiKnow community alliance, which offers support getting online and improving digital skills, plays an important role in Stockport’s Live Well initiative. Whether it’s applying for jobs, accessing health services, or staying in touch with loved ones, being digitally included can help people live happier, healthier lives. This is at the heart of the Live Well approach.

Stockport Live Well is changing how we work with our partners and communities, connecting people with local places, and building a better future for everyone.
