"Hi, my name is Janet and I’ve been part of the council for about 18 years. I started here working in the Contact Centre and then for the last 8 years have been working in the Revenues and Benefits Team where I deal with applications from customers for Council Tax support and housing benefit.

"I discovered our Neurodiversity Network about 8 weeks ago after completing my Equality and Diversity training and when I joined it was like a lightbulb moment for me. I felt like I understood a bit more about myself and that people were talking about things that really resonated with me.

"Knowing that there are others who have a shared experience has been really useful."

Information about the Neurodivergent Support Group

The Neurodivergent Support Group was created to provide a safe space for neurodivergent employees to connect and help promote acceptance and understanding. The group has a number of colleagues who come together each month either virtually or in person too catch up. We cover things like how to navigate assessments, and share information about how to work well.
